I am not saying these are 100% correct and Xenus would be the best one to ask about that. However, this does give you a basic rundown of how the fight plays out. It does give great advice for white mages. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ifrit_(Final_Fantasy_XIV)
This website gives a little different rundown than the other though they are very close. The cool thing that this website has is the places to stand and how to remember them as well as escape routes from one of his attacks. To placement seems very close to what I have been shown thus far. http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Ifrit_Bleeds,_We_Can_Kill_It

A good link that shows you the fight and walks you through it. Again, the strat we have been using is a little different. Though the leader of the party should explain each time. There should never be more than one person giving strats.

Some info is outdated, such as you cant cast and run anymore. And I have absolutely no idea why you want to draw out your weapon and hit Ifrit once at the begining and run to a safe spot. It does, however, give a good visual reference to standing in a safe spot, as well as a couple of other items THMs should keep in mind.

Ok, i've been watching this video and reading other strats to figure out what we were or may have been doing wrong. We had no problem getting ifrit down to 30% handling Hellfire with ease. it was the plumes and even more so, the eruption that got us. What we can do to handle this better is to ONLY cure or use weaponskills AFTER he uses an ability. By this point hes using them every 5 seconds so we have that little window to toss out whatever we can and if we wait a few seconds too long its best not to risk it. WHMs especially should follow this because once they're down the tank goes down and we pretty much lost. Another thing that caught my attention was that the plumes dont spawn close to Ifrit, so if we can get in between them we can run to ifrit and then run back.
