I completed Castrum Novum with 2 different teams last eve. The strategy that worked on both was mainly positioning and timing.

Strategy

I played Bard in both and kept up Ballad of Magi for mages and helped keep Stoneskin up

mnk kills a generator down to about 10-15%

war finishes it off (War was also kiting Mecha)

as a generator goes down

turn all attention to the transmitter (in the center) until it wont take any more dmg

mnk goes and kills another generator to 10-15% war finishes it off again

repeat

The reason War needs to finish it, is cause the one who finishes it will get hate from Mecha.

Positioning

Entry - Behind all the mobs, which would be top of image

Position

I am actually facing the door we come in at and notice where the mages and bard stays. (Bard only moves when need to for WS moves)

Stay in position - While staying in position the DD with AoE ws, can take out mobs much quicker and the mobs don't spread out

Transmitter - in center, when one generator goes down, all who can focus on Transmitter till it won't take any more damage

Hope this helps others. Have a great time. It can be fun, but for the coffers, it takes a concentrated effort of 2 or more parties. We had two full parties and we struggled with one H-1 for a coffer.

Our strat was similar, positioning was a bit different.

We had 2 wars standing in between the generator that's right in front of you when you enter and the transmitter. We also had a monk standing close to there. It was their job to grab all adds and kill them quickly. They were to do this while using any area of affect attack they could to help dmg the generator and transmitter.

We had 2 blm 2 whm and a pld. The pld job was to try and keep the big guy away from everyone else by running him in a big circle. The whm were to cure the pld and the other whm was to cure the add team..

The blm were working on downing a second generator (as the adds team kept the one generator down pretty much the entire time) and then damaging the trasmitter. You do not need to down all the generators to damage the transmitter however you can do the most damage to the trasmitter while all generators are down. The transmitter takes no damage when all generators are up. The generators respawn very fast (30s-45s).

We had no issues with this setup. It was a longer fight but very clean. No "omgwhatdowedo" moments.

I hope this helps.

I thought of another thing that could be useful. Melee, the front of the generator is the beam attaching the generator to the transmitter. So if you want to combo with the generator, stand on the beam side for all front attacks and adjust for all other attacks.
