Wasn't sure if this was common knowledge or not, just ran into an interesting Qiqrin and was surprised at what he was selling.

If you are like me, you may wish you could use gil to purchase some Grand Company items rather than Grand Company Seals. Depending on what you are looking for, you may be in luck.

The NPC you will want to speak to is Gagaroon and he is located at (8, 4) in Gridania, just south of the Rosewood Stalls; he is hidden in a corner outside of the stalls. Of interest, he sells:

• Company-issued Engineering Manuals I and II (40k and 100k respectively)
• Company-issued Survival Manuals I and II (40k and 100k respectively)
• Gridanian Aetherpass (400k)

All of the numbers in parenthesis above is the price in gil. You can still buy things from him with seals if you want and you just don't want to walk to the other side of Gridania. What I do not know is if you have to be a member of the Twin Adders (which is likely) or if you have to have a minimum rank (unlikely, but as a point of reference I was a Serpent Sergeant First Class when I spoke with him). I would imagine the other cities have similar NPCs that serve the same purpose.

As a Chief Storm Sergeant for The Maelstrom this NPC offered me everything listed for the same prices.

I also imagine this means an NPC like this exists in the other two cities.

There is actually. Those would be the "Black Market" Qiqrin.

Ul'dah's is located on the Sapphire Avenue Exchange, near the northern intersection.
Limsa's is located near eastern entrance of East Hawkers.
And as Katra said, Gridania's is near Rosewood Stalls.

As far as I know, this is the only way to get Aetherpasses for cities outside your own Grand Company.
