I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be jumping servers. Playing from China is no good when I have to connect to a server in the states. I have a ping of 600-650ms. This makes me lag so bad, I cant enjoy any dungeons, fates, or smaller story events without freezing for a while. Its such a pain. I am really not enjoying the game. I will jump over to a Japanese server. When I test their serves through a ping, I hit around 88-112ms. This is much better than the 600-650ms. I wish I could have done more endgame with you guys. I wish you all good luck and fun, hopefully if in the future the issue gets resolved I can come back.
I hope the new server works out. It is tough to enjoy the game when conditions make it difficult to enjoy, or in this case to even do, content. If conditions do improve later and you are able to return, we will be glad to have you back.

Just wanted to say lag is less noticeable over here. I finally beat Castrum Ale or whatever that horrible dungeon is. I am almost done with the story. I am wondering what to work on for gear. I am a PLD and I have been reading to work on the sword and work on WP and AK. Here is what I have been reading:
Farming Ifrit isn't worthwhile for a PLD, jump straight to farming Garuda once you're a bit more beefy from WP/AK.
What. Why wouldn't he farm Ifrit? It's fucking easy because all he has to do is interrupt Eruption and GG, weapon. Garuda pugs wipe all the time from people attacking wrong targets, not moving around fast enough, and not killing satin plumes. As an actual tank, it's practically the hardest instance except for coil since the game actually wants you to move around and memorize a simple pattern. Titan in comparison is just a gear check. You sit still and do your Halone combo and make sure to not fat finger any important CDs until Mountain Buster. That's it. I wouldn't recommend jumping straight to AK because the Darklight Shield from WP is the best shield you have a chance of getting before Relic. Farm that, collect vermillion drops and save Myths until you hit 300 (or 900 if you want full + 1) of 'em. Once you have the DL shield, move onto AK.
What again. He can go straight into AK. Absolutely nothing in AK hits hard enough to rape him and his fresh ~4.3k hp ass. He should do both AK and WP because they each drop good shit and WP is slightly easier, but there's nothing stopping him from jumping right into AK. That's practically what everyone did before they even made WP fucking worthwhile. Prior to this hotfix, almost no tank even had the Darklight shield anyway. It's also viable to buy AF2 armor instead of saving for Relic + 1, as long as you keep 300 Myths for the shield (it's more important than the sword for mitigation, and thus a tank's job).
NO. NO. NO. The best upgrade for him would be the sword and then the shield. I don't care how much damage he mitigates, if he can't hold threat he isn't mitigating shit. His weapon is his single and biggest threat boost, and if he's learned anything from whacking things with his shitty sword, it's that relic geared dps will wipe the floor with him. AK and WP speedruns don't suck because his shield is made of paper mache, it's because he can't hold off the BLM/SMNs nuking everything. Don't listen to this person. Do Ifrit. Get your sword. Do a mix of WP and AK. AK is only slightly better than WP. Hoplite pants are like 3 vitality and 2 physical defense more than Vermillion pants. Set aside tomes for your relic FIRST (both philo and myth) unless you have REALLY shitty gray gear. The first upgrades I would recommend (even before saving for your relic) is to get a darklight ring and bracers, since you can only have one hoplite ring drop from AK and no bracers drop from either AK or WP. It's kinda redundant to hop right into Darklight armor since you'll be doing AK and WP so much that you might get decent armor drops, thereby potentially sidegrading yourself. Se aside tomes for your relic before you can focus on other armor. There's nothing more deflating than being in full darklight with some AF2 pieces and running around with your shit tier ifrit or regular relic because you couldn't save tomes. 1-3 weeks is a pretty long time. You can do Garuda at your own discretion. The weapon is better but a lot less people are capable of defeating the boss, so you'll eat more wipes in the process.
Can someone share there experience on how they geared your paladin. Thanks for all the info guys. hopefully one day I can return. All my friends and people i met are here.
NotaPLD, but Shir just finished his and I saw Luci and Tann gear theirs up.
I will say WP will be easy farming and I wouldn't see why not now that they've added tomestones to them. The shield IS good till you finish curtana/holy shield. Shir was looking for it but wound up finishing holy shield before getting it I think. Pretty sure he went with Ifrit sword too. While Garuda's IS better, Ifrit's works just fine for most of that content. Titan can be done in a mix of AK/DL gear with Ifrit and higher weapons fine.
WP/AK farming isn't a big deal either zone. Queue up both and take whichever you get personally. You can use gear from both and you're still getting philosophy for DL and myth for AF+1 and +1'ing your relics. (Though if you get a Hopilite Crown I'd use/hold it even after you get DL. Most of the tanks I know upgrade their body to the Gallant Body or w/e the +1 is and use the Hopilite till they can upgrade the crown as well using myth after +1'ing sword/shield)
Most PLD I know upgrade sword then shield as well. It's one of the biggest increases in enmity gain you get which you'll need holding hate on relic and relic +1 holders you get in those dungeons and primal fights. If you can't hold hate, your DD can't open up, which makes fights last longer with more chance for errors to occur. Your healers can cure through a little extra damage if you're solidly holding hate in that mid-tier content.
When you mean upgrade sword and shield, are you talking about the Curtana and the holy shield? They are both relics correct. Right now I have the GC sword. I am using that since its the best I have. I have started doing Castrum Meri to start upgrading the accessories. So far i just have the bracelets. Working on the neck and earring.
Then I will start looking into working on the sword and shield. Can I run WP with the af gear i got (Gallant) I need a shield for now. I am using a lvl 44 one. Should i do WP for it? How hard is WP?
Any more tips and ideas would be great! Thanks Kura
Wanderer's Palace is cake, don't worry about it. People just need to have a clue. If you can watch a video of it so you understand what the deal is with the tonberries that walk through the zone and how to handle Everyone's Grudge on King Tonberry. Biggest problem from it is when people don't understand these ton berries that are walking up on them then knife you for half your hp and panic. If you know to either stay far ahead of them or let them pass while you hide in a corner its not a problem.
Your bigger problem will be people that may want to speed run it on duty finder if you're not familiar with what they're doing. HOPEFULLY people restrict that to server shout groups though.
AF is just fine for WP. You can get the Vermillion gear here which will make Ampador Keep a little easier than if you were in full AF.
I'd suggest working on your Darklight from most expensive pieces to least expensive actually. Left side pieces give you more VIT (as tank your accessories do too, but not as much or other main stats) and while the early grind feels like it takes longer your other pieces will move quicker as you'll be more capably geared to make that content easier. Don't give in to the instant gratification! : D Also, most Titan HM groups want to see at least a few left side Darklight pieces to know you have the HP to survive the fight.
WP for your shield is the best piece unless you buy/meld a dark steel one i think (behind Holy Shield obviously). Curtana/Holy Shield are your relics
I have another question. When I originally started playing I was sinking attribute points into STR and VIT. Currently I have 7 into STR and 23 into VIT. Should I buy a potion and re do these all into VIT or is this ok. How did you guys allocate points and why?
