So i am having a problem with my benchmark. It shows it is running the Intel HD graphics instead of the NVIDIA card. When I click on settings, it shows that my Nvidia 540 graphics card is selected, but the information screen during the benchmark shows the Intel HD graphics family ram is running. I go to settings and its set on the Nvidia card. What is happening? Any ideas?

also, i dont know how to add an image i copied from my pc >.>

When you say "I go to settings and its set on the Nvidia card" which settings are you talking about exactly?

If you want to add an image, you need to save it to your hard drive, then upload it to an image hosting site such as imgur.com.

Now for your issue, you should try this:
Go into the NVIDIA Control Panel, then hit Manage 3D Settings. At the top you should see "Prefered graphics processor." Just need to change that.

If that doesn't work, you can go into the Program Settings tab and specifically pick out FFXIV and do the same thing.
Hello and thank you for helping me. Here is a picture of the NVIDIA control center. I added the benchmark as one of the items that should be ran by the NVIDIA card.

Then I opened the benchmark and it still shows the Intel family processor running, not the Nvidia card.

What am I doing wrong? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You're on an Alienware M11x, right? Try plugging in the charger then running the benchmark and let me know if the same thing happens. Just make sure not to run the benchmark program until after it's charging.
My charger has been plugged in the whole time. I have spent around 3 hours checking out google and doing all kinds of changes. Maybe the benchmark just doesnt recognize the nvidia card. I have it set on high performance, added the exe file on the nvidia control panel and even made it so that in the nvidia control, the nvidia card is always selected. I also right clicked the exe file for the benchmark and i selected run with graphics card, NVIDIA. @.@

So my conclusion is, by a different laptop ! haha

Ah wow, sorry then. I dunno what else to try. =/

EDIT: Actually, the only other thing to try if you haven't already is to disable the integrated card from the BIOS menu. Though I'm not sure if that's possible on your laptop.
I tried going into the bios, but it does not let me do that. Maybe its just an issue with the benchmark. I was able to run the NVIDIA card during the beta. So I will wait and see what happens when the game is out. Thanks for all your help!

Anybody have any experience with ordering from them? What would a good gaming desktop cost a person. Something that would run the game on high settings. I am just wondering since I have never owned a gaming desktop. People are always saying its better to build your own, but by build your own, what are you buying and what budget are you going off of? I see the gaming desktops on their site and they are just as expensive as laptops.

Thanks

Jens
